Recipe: Smoothie

Here’s a great smoothie recipe. There are so many variations you could do with a smoothie. Stay tuned for some of my favorites. In the meanwhile try this one out!


  • 2 T Flax seeds
  • 2 T Walnuts (or any nuts or seed raw unroasted)
  • 1 C Water
  • Big handful of Dark Greens like Kale or Spinach
  • 3/4 Strawberries
  • 3/4 Blueberries
  • 1 Banana
  • 1/2 c Plain Yogurt (optional)
  • Mint (optional)


While blender is dry so your seeds don’t clump and they grind well, blend flax seeds and nuts. You can also pre grind them if your blender doesn’t do a great job. Once they are completely ground with no big chunks add some water and the greens. Blend greens completely before adding next ingredients. Add berries and banana. I like to use frozen fruit so my smoothie is cold and a little frosty. You could also use fresh fruit and add some ice to blend in with it, and less water. Add yogurt if you’re having it. You can add a few fresh mint leaves at this point if you like. I also add a small chunk of ginger sometimes. Great for digestion, circulation and adds a little spic to your smoothie.
